How a job works

Four steps. The fourth one pays.

  1. Take a contract

    The contract board is a street directory of Coolamon Bay. Every pin is a job with the fee on it; tap one for the address, how fiddly it is and roughly how long it takes.

  2. Load the ute

    The ute carries three tools; a trailer makes it five. Pick the mower, the snipper, the blower or the rake for the job — whatever’s left in the shed stays in the shed.

  3. Mow, snip, blow

    One thumb steers, the other holds the blades down. Set the deck height in millimetres, snip the edges, blow the clippings off the path, and pick up the kids’ toys before the mower finds them.

  4. Get paid

    The invoice shows the fee, the tip and anything you hit. Get past 90% thorough and every point after that adds 4% of the fee as a tip, up to half as much again. Then drag the slider and have a look at it.

Your street

Type in an Australian address and it becomes a yard you can mow: your own, your mum’s, the one down the road with the nature strip nobody claims.

The game builds it from open maps, and says which parts it could see and which it had to guess. The backyard is usually a guess. Nobody publishes those.

  • Lot boundaryOpen land data from NSW Spatial Services, Vicmap (Victoria) and the Queensland cadastre. Elsewhere, the lot is guessed.

What happens to the addressIt goes to our server for the lookup, and only for that. It isn’t stored or logged; the lookup is kept in memory for a day under a scrambled key, then dropped. The yard you build stays on your device. This part needs a connection; the rest of the game doesn’t. Read the privacy policy
